My Wild Things

Hello and welcome to Wild & Free Childhood where we talk mostly about nature and early childhood education. You’ll be seeing a lot of my own kids, who at the time of this posting are aged 2 1/2 and 10 months. Ohio winters with small kids certainly test my belief in “There’s no such thing as bad weather only unsuitable clothing” (there’s a great book on the subject if you’re so inclined). Believe me, I know it is hard to get kids out in the cold, especially when they’re little and wiggly. We do our best to get outside and play – be it the back garden or the local park – but sometimes Disney+ just wins. We’ve all been there.

This website is our journey through the early years as we explore nature, reading, and most recently potty training. May the Force be with us.

Thanks for reading. Now go outside!
